I’ve always believed that creativity isn’t confined to one medium—it’s a force that can transcend boundaries, evolve with time, and take on new forms. My journey began in my early teens, when I discovered my love for fashion design, tailoring, and print. I was drawn to the art of making something from scratch—whether it was a custom-tailored piece, a fashion-forward print, or collaborating on designs for models and musicians. After studying at college and working with an agency alongside two talented friends, I was fortunate to design for many incredible clients. It was an exciting, fast-paced time in my life that shaped my perspective on design and creativity in profound ways. But as life often does, things changed. My heart led me to take a break and focus on something that had always been a dream of mine: becoming a mother. And while that shift took me away from the fashion world for a time, I never stopped being creative. Whether it was sketching new designs, sewing, commissioned work or developing my brand Melanin Made, I made sure that my creative spark never dimmed. As my children grew older, I found myself reflecting on the next chapter in my life. I wanted to bring everything I had learned—my passion for design, my business experience, and my drive to create something meaningful—into a new field: digital design.
